It’s a great time to be a part of ZOLL!Job TypeOn SiteJob SummaryThe Commercial Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in our facilities. This position will support our maintenance mechanics with their day-to-day responsibilities.Essential Functions

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical controls, wiring, and lighting systems.

  • Read technical diagrams and blueprints.

  • Perform general electrical maintenance.

  • Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.

  • Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, and fixtures.

  • Follow National Electrical Code, Massachusetts and local building regulations.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems.

  • Be able to install, repair and modify low voltage and data systems.

  • Ability to perform fire alarm testing, reporting and repairs to the fire alarm systems.

  • Communicate with clients, architects, and contractors on behalf of ZOLL for new installations and extensive repairs.

  • Complete job reports and order materials and supplies as needed.

  • Performs troubleshooting, preventive & corrective maintenance of building equipment and systems on time and in an appropriate manner and documents same utilizing a work order system.

  • Have a strong mechanical background and be able to make routine repairs.

  • Evaluates equipment performance and recommends improvements to maintenance program and system design.

  • Leads external service providers/contractors responsible for building equipment and systems.

  • Uses industry best practices, experience and general knowledge to a wide range of tasks to troubleshoot, adjust, install, repair, replace and maintain equipment or facilities.

  • Available for and responds to unscheduled, emergency, on-call, after-hour situations to meet the needs of the department, i.e., floods, roof leaks, storm emergencies, etc.

  • Proactively plans and orders products, supplies and other materials, including spare parts inventory as needed for routine operation of equipment and systems.

  • Ensures quality of work, provides in-house expertise.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Participates in and successfully completes mandatory education and/or training.

  • Works on special projects as assigned.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • 15+ years of experience as a proven electrician

  • Valid Massachusetts electrical license Required

  • Valid driver's license Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive electrical system, power, blueprints, and maintenance and repair knowledge.

  • Be able to make routine plumbing and carpentry repairs.

  • Assemble and repair office furniture, hang pictures, whiteboards and tv’s.

  • Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.

  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
