Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the recording and collection of agency’s medical billing and reimbursement functions.
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
Provide revenue cycle support to C+FS.
Complete/oversee duties associated with billing including charge entry, payment posting, claims submission and follow up, patient statements and collections.
Create and monitor monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Dashboard and work with other departments to meet standard benchmarks.
Conduct revenue cycle and billing training sessions for billing team members.
Identify opportunities to improve service.
Complete billing staff supervision duties.
Billing corrections are addressed timely and delinquent accounts are audited to ensure maximum collections efforts have occurred.
Ensures billings and payments are processed in a timely manner.
Reviews and follows up on accounts receivable aging reports.
Makes recommendations for bad debt accounts and/or write-offs.
Prepares, journalizes, posts and reconciles all medical billing transactions to ensure timely and accurate monthly financial statement reporting.
Prepares and coordinates billing work-papers and similar reports as required for the agency’s annual audit.
Organizes monthly meetings to communicate information and propose solutions related to billing and collections issues.
Responsible for completing various billing projects or other tasks as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Models and practices sensitivity, fair treatment and acceptance of diversity in all interpersonal interactions.
Demonstrates excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills. Also demonstrates knowledge of agency programs and services.
Maintains positive working relationships with program staff and others within the agency. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills during interactions with internal and external customers.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Billing experience in either physician, hospital or behavioral health clinic environment is required.
7+ years related work experience required (behavior health medical billing experience preferred).
3+ years supervisory experience preferred
Solid understanding of revenue cycle processes.
Familiarity with payer portals including but not limited to ePACES, Availity, Inovalon, clearinghouses.
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
AS/BS Degree preferred. Billing and/or Coding certification desired.
Qualifacts Credible experience highly desired
Competitive Pay Range of $55,000-$65,000 annually based on experience
