System One is looking to contract with a Survey Technician for a 12 month contract in Chattanooga, TN for our client TVA. You must be local to the Muscle Shoals or Columbia, TN area.

You will work as a survey crew member and a fully competent surveyor to establish routes for new transmission lines and boundary and layout for new substations.

Your main tasks will include:

• Performing various field surveying tasks according to TVA transmission line standards

• Serving as an instrument person and sub party chief on challenging surveys that require surveying skill and proficiency

• Recording survey data, such as topographic data, centerline profile and property line ties, using electronic survey data collectors and ensuring their accuracy and adequacy

• Making initial contacts with property owners and discussing and resolving any problems with them

• Directing the work of other technicians as needed

• Scanning features or sites by terrestrial, mobile, or aerial LiDAR and collecting, registering, processing, interpreting and analyzing scan data to provide accurate and reliable data for engineers and design decisions
