We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our Construction Company client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all in-house accounting tasks, including but not limited to managing payroll, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate assignment of expenses, handling subcontractor financial matters, and maintaining our financial statements. The bookkeeper will play a crucial role in ensuring our finances are well-managed and accurate, supporting the overall financial health of our company.

Responsibilities:

• Process company payroll on a regular basis, ensuring accurate and timely payments to all employees.

• Provide comprehensive day-to-day financial operations within the organization such as accounts payable and receivable, cash receipts, and payroll.

• Assign invoices to appropriate jobs, project codes, and areas, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses.

• Handle financial matters concerning subcontractors, including invoice management, payments, and other necessary documentation.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting, and budgeting procedures, and state and federal tax law changes.

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as posting details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts.

• Prepare financial statements and business activity reports to provide an accurate perspective on the company's financial position and operational efficiency.

• Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.

• Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

• Defend the company’s financial interests by making sure all vendors are paid within terms and resolve any discrepancies.

• Regularly review company financial reports and seek cost reduction opportunities.

• Collaborate with external auditors when necessary.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a bookkeeping role within the construction industry is preferred.

• Familiarity with accounting software, data entry, data processing, and financial analysis.

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

• Proficient understanding of all statutory legislation and regulations.

• Attention to detail with an ability to identify numerical errors.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

• Experience with Quickbooks
