This position is for an Electrician / Overhead crane operator. 90% travel will be required.

DUTIES:

Major duties consist of making repairs to large and small transformers, motors, generators, and other electrical equipment, including the rewinding of the coils for both transformers and motors. This work requires, in many cases, that the equipment be completely dismantled, repaired and reassembled. This work is usually done in the shop but may be performed in the field under certain circumstances.

Makes inspection of electrical equipment sent in for repairs to determine extent of damage. Repairs minor items of electrical apparatus such as contacts, switches, starters, etc.

Will be required to travel to various locations throughout the Valley.

May be required to certify on cranes used within Power Service Shop buildings and operate cranes to facilitate repairs to electrical equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must exercise care in the performance of the duties described and is responsible for the proper execution of instructions received. Will be required to perform work in the field when necessary.

Education equivalent to a formal electrician journeyman training program, graduation from high school and several years’ experience in this type of work.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Electrical Transformer Production, and direct supervision of the Electrician Foreman.
