Northrop Grumman Missions Systems has an opening for a Principal / Sr. Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The location for this position is in Charlottesville, VA. This position can be hired at either a Principal Subcontract Specialist or a Sr Principal Subcontract Specialist.

Essential Functions:

  • In support of the Naval & Oceanic Division portfolio of programs, develops subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services.

  • Prepares bid packages, conducts bidders conferences, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions, selects or recommends subcontractors, writes awards, and administers resulting subcontracts.

  • Responsible for source selection from contract proposal to execution phases. Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program and end-users.

  • Perform cost and/or price analysis to determine price reasonableness. Negotiate with suppliers on price, schedule, terms and conditions and any other contractual requirements. May lead negotiations with supplier.

  • Ensures compliance with all FAR, DFARS and public law requirements, as well as company policies and procedures

  • Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities.

  • Work in and support cross functional program teams including, but not limited to, Supplier Performance, Supply Chain Program Management, Contracts, Engineering, Finance and Planning.

  • Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed.

Basic Qualifications (level 3):

  • 5+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, 3+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related with a Master’s Degree; 9+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience with SAP or related business application software

  • Experience and knowledge of FAR/DFAR

  • Experience with supplier negotiations

Preferred Qualifications (level 3):

  • Experience working within a Government approved purchasing system.

  • Professional experience in a regulated industry; to include Aerospace & Defense

  • Demonstrated experience with multiple contracting formats, including Firm Fixed Price and/or Cost Reimbursable,

  • Experience with terms and conditions, and/or special contract clauses/types such as: long term agreements and intellectual property agreements.

Basic Qualification (level 4):

  • 8+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, 6+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related with a Master’s Degree; 12+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience with SAP or related business application software

  • Experience and knowledge of FAR/DFAR

  • Experience with supplier negotiations

Preferred Qualifications (level 4):

  • Experience working within a Government approved purchasing system.

Salary Range: $78,700 - $118,100

Salary Range 2: $98,100 - $147,100

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
