University of Virginia Police Services Supervisor in Charlottesville, Virginia

The University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for a Police Services Supervisor. The Services Division is a central call center for the Security Department at the University of Virginia. The Services Supervisor supports the law enforcement goal of providing a safe and secure workplace and enforcing laws by supervising services personnel. They are responsible for the day-to-day activities of the department's Services Division and the personnel in the Services Division.

The Services Supervisor provides guidance for staff dispatching security officers, delegates assignments, and ensure the quality of their work. They are responsible for the Police Department’s database management and will use business intelligence and reporting to retrieve and analyze data. They prepare material related to legal matters and ensures compliance with UVAPD and state reporting requirements. The Supervisor assists the Services Manager with ensuring maintenance of the Report Management System, Virginia Criminal Information Network system, Services training documents and other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The Police Services Supervisor will be cross trained in section responsibilities to accommodate shift needs as well as technical matters. They are expected to obtain and maintain a Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) certification.


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • At least 4 years of work experience in an administrative/business related

  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License

  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to utilize record management databases.

  • Experience working in a police or security department is preferred
