University of Virginia Open Rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Nursing), General Track Faculty Role in Charlottesville, Virginia

The School of Nursing at the University of Virginia is seeking candidates for an open rank general track faculty position with experience teaching and mentoring nursing students. The committee will consider all areas of teaching but are especially interested in individuals who are expert clinicians in a specified patient population, such as pediatrics, psychiatric mental health or family practice. Candidates interested in a 12-month fulltime faculty appointment are encouraged to apply. For candidates with commensurate experience and interest, a leadership role within a program or academic operations could be considered.

This is a teaching focused position with significant duties teaching in our graduate programs but opportunities to teach across all academic programs. In addition to teaching, there are also opportunities for service, practice, scholarship, leadership, and other duties related to student mentoring.

Working among the nation's best nurse scholars, academics and students, the incumbent will prepare the next generation of nurses and nurse practitioners. This is an exciting opportunity to work at one of the nation's top schools, within a vibrant, engaging university community. Rank and compensation are dependent upon education, experience, and scholarship. The anticipated start date of this faculty position is spring 2025 or as soon as possible.

Required:

DNP or similar terminal degree in nursing or related field by the start date of appointment

Unencumbered nursing license in Virginia by the start date of the appointment.

Preferred:

Certification as an advanced practice nurse
