University of Virginia Certified Ophthalmology Tech in Charlottesville, Virginia
Performs a variety of diagnostic ophthalmic tests to assist Ophthalmology Department physicians, nurses and other technical support personnel to evaluate Eye Clinic patients.
Performs ophthalmic tests
Performs ophthalmic measurements
Performs visual field testing
Performs ocular motility clinic area and equipment
Continues professional growth
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $20.28 - $31.43 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
Experience: 1 year relevant experience
Licensure: Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) Certification by JCAHPO (Joint Commission of Accredited Health Professionals in Ophthalmology) or Certified as Contact Lens Technician or Registered Optician with the Commonwealth of Virginia required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling: (distance: 50 feet), reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 – 100lbs. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
