University of Virginia Capital Equipment Inventory Specialist in Charlottesville, Virginia

The Capital Equipment Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing, tagging, and maintaining the inventory of capital equipment within the organization. This role involves tracking equipment assets, conducting regular audits, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and collaborating with various departments to optimize equipment utilization and lifecycle management.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all capital equipment.

  • Manage inventory tracking system to ensure real-time visibility of equipment status.

Audits and Reporting:

  • Conduct regular physical audits of capital equipment and reconcile with inventory records.

  • Prepare detailed reports on equipment status, usage, and lifecycle for management review.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements regarding capital equipment management.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all equipment acquisitions, disposals, and maintenance activities.

Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to staff on proper equipment usage and inventory management procedures.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to capital equipment inventory.

Position Compensation Range: $20.68 - $32.05 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Experience: 2+ years of experience in inventory management, capital asset management, or a similar role. Experience in a healthcare, manufacturing, or technology environment preferred.

Licensure: None required. Certification in inventory management or supply chain (e.g., APICS, ISM) preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. This role may require regular travel between facilities and may involve working in both office and warehouse environments.
