Job Title: Test Technician

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Test Technician to join our second shift team. In this role, you will be tasked with performing basic to moderately complex set-ups and tear-downs of large water-cooled chillers. Your responsibilities will also include connecting and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems on equipment manufactured in Charlotte. You will operate, inspect, and maintain test setups and equipment to detect malfunctions. Your expertise will be crucial in providing technical support to engineers on a variety of engineering tasks. Please note that this opening is exclusively for the 2nd shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM) with some overtime as needed twice per month, Monday - Friday.

Hard Skills

• Familiarity with electrical work, including 460-3-60 machinery and medium voltage industrial power supplies

• Familiarity with HVAC operation, refrigerant handling, and EPA certification

• Experience with pumps, VFDs, boilers, control valves, and PLC operation

• LO/TO controls troubleshooting and Arc Flash training

• Experience with industrial tools and pneumatic tools

• Understanding of mechanical components (Nut, washer, bolt - order)

• HVAC experience

Soft Skills

• Ability to work under moderate supervision

• Collaboration skills to work with higher-level support staff and engineers

• Ability to perform basic to moderately complex technical tasks

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 1 Year(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Work Environment

Our work environment involves very large systems, with five Test Labs at our facility. You will be running tests for R&D and for certification, ensuring each system is run and tested before it leaves the facility. These systems are substantial in size, fitting on the back of a tractor-trailer. Please note that proof of your last education is required.
