Job Summary

MUFG Americas is embarking on a business and technology transformation to effectively deliver five key business imperatives: Growth, Business Agility, Client Experience, Effective Controls, and Collaboration. To accomplish these imperatives, MUFG has launched a Transformation Program built upon the following foundation pillars:

  1. Core Banking Transformation Program

  2. Data Governance, Infrastructure& Reporting Program

  3. Technology Modernization Program

This position supports the Core Banking Transformation (CBT) Program . CBT is a multi-year effort to modernize our deposits platform with a world-class digitally led and simplified ecosystem for consumer, small business, commercial and transaction banking to deliver exceptional customer experience and provide the bank a competitive advantage in the market. Our customers will benefit from streamlined and automated processes that simultaneously will provide the bank business process efficiencies and operational cost savings.

Role Summary:

The Core Banking Transformation technology team is looking for a delivery lead to spearhead shipping iterative builds of the new core banking ecosystem. The delivery lead drives development and deployment across an array of product and capability teams, aligning efforts into a unified product release.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead iterative deployment of new core banking deposit capabilities within the MUFG ecosystem

  • Align, plan, and precisely manage activities and dependencies across development teams to ensure cohesive delivery

  • Identify, manage, and apply mitigation plans to neutralize risks

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, actively adopting new practices and techniques to accelerate delivery

  • Partner with business, program management, architecture, system owner, 3rd party vendors, testing and other teams as necessary to ensure successful delivery

  • Ensure compliance with MUFG technical standards and delivery procedures

  • Manage onshore and offshore resources, including recruiting, mentorship and technologist development


Required Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent professional experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Minimum four years of experience in delivering mission critical service solutions within a large, complex IT environment

  • Minimum two years as a technical project manager, delivery lead, team lead, or other similar roles

  • Fluent with modern, cloud-first technology stacks sufficient to engage effectively with architects and developers

  • Experience managing software lifecycle projects using waterfall or iterative methodologies

  • Mastery of Atlassian Jira to manage goals, teams and projects

  • Ability to concurrently engage on a larger number of interrelated activities

  • Demonstrated ability to manage software release risks, including holding releases when necessary

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Penchant for continuous improvement and adaptation, introducing new processes or delivery methods as needed

  • Experience integrating new technology and platforms with mission critical legacy systems

  • Comfort with ambiguity; the ability to find the correct path given limited guidance

  • Strong communication & presentation skills

  • Able to travel out of state

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Experience within a high integrity, and/or regulated environment (government, healthcare, financial sectors, etc)

  • Completion of PMP or other equivalent certification (preferred)

  • Ability to travel internationally
