Honeywell Sr IT Architect in Charlotte, North Carolina
The Enterprise Services Datacenter and Networking Organization designs, implements and operates a state-of-the-art Information Systems Infrastructure serving around 110,000 employees, in over 650 locations across 65 plus countries. The Lead Infrastructure Architect, TCM & Automation will be responsible for architecting and principle engineering for Chef Automation and Technical Configuration Management (TCM) for >20,000 servers at Honeywell. This role includes end to end reporting and compliance metrics for the Chef ecosystem. This person is also responsible for making improvements to the existing systems to operate them in an optimized manner and or to improve the reliability and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide oversight to Honeywell’s Chef platform optimization, monitoring and lifecycle management
Accountable for developing technology roadmaps related to Chef automation and TCM compliance
Work with TCM and automation technology platforms like Chef, Ip soft to create the strategy/direction for enterprise infrastructure
Oversee troubleshooting of performance issues related to Chef activities
Design and implement an evergreen process for Chef client management
Align and drive transformation of the Chef automation ecosystem into a mature service offering
Maintain team SLA’s on Chef TCM effectiveness, incident response, and problem management activities
Partner with Compliance teams to ensure proper remediation validation is being performed around parameter hardening
Design and integrate Chef with other Enterprise tools like Splunk, ServiceNow for end-to-end data visibility, dashboards etc
Develop an overall Strategy for IT Automation in addition to TCM
Drive more user self-service, communications and help with increased service adoption
Participate in calls with other members to address and troubleshoot application and or infrastructure related issues related to Chef hardening
You will report directly to our Director, IT and you’ll work out of our Charlotte, NC or Phoenix, AZ or Atlanta, GA location on a Hybrid work schedule.
The annual base salary range for this position for Charlotte, NC is $96,000- $120,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. YOU MUST HAVE
5+ years of experience in managing Chef in an enterprise server ecosystem, both administration and TCM
Experience with ServiceNow or another similar formal Service Management platform and/or methodology
Possess strong knowledge on Windows & Linux Operating systems
Strong knowledge of Server automation activities (PowerShell, or other)
Experience with Windows & Linux security standards & OS Hardening concept
Experience with supporting mission critical infrastructure operations
Must be a US citizen due to contractual requirements
