The Senior Compensation Consultant provides comprehensive consulting in support of aligned business areas within Consumer and Small Business Banking at Truist to ensure the effective delivery, communication, and administration of compensation programs and practices including job attributes, pay structure, incentive plans, and annual processes.

* Position required to be in the office 4 days per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide consultation, advice and creative solutions, driven by business acumen and market intelligence, for a wide range to the most complex of compensation initiatives. Analyze complex, small/large scale, and short/long-term compensation needs to support business and total rewards priorities and strategies.

  2. Build strong partnerships and collaborate across the organization to effectively influence compensation related decisions in alignment with Truist’s compensation strategy. Key partners include total rewards, business leaders, human capital enablement partners, finance, talent acquisition, and control partners, among others.

  3. Skilled in project management to lead line of business and enterprise complex projects responsible for aspects of design, implementation and readiness/communication. Attention to detail to influence and improve processes.

  4. Perform analysis and communicate compensation-related items to key partners to ensure consistent and equitable establishment across the enterprise; this may include market pricing/grading/assessment of exempt and nonexempt positions, job offer consultation, organization design, annual award reviews, and other special projects.

  5. Consult on variable short-term and long-term incentives to ensure teammates are incented appropriately and aligned to market.

  6. Communicate, interpret, and apply compensation policies, procedures, and regulations to make decisions in support of initiatives and the execution of deliverables. Effectively manage risk in Total Rewards through awareness, identification, escalation and mitigation.

  7. Mentor and coach other compensation professionals on the team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  2. 8 years of demonstrated specialized and/or broad knowledge with Compensation or related discipline (Human Resources, Finance, etc.)

  3. Ability to lead projects of significant complexity and risk exposure and to exercise judgment in solving technical, operational, and organizational challenges in the context of business objectives and priorities

  4. Demonstrated ability to partner with business to understand business needs and develop suitable compensation / incentive programs

  5. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience as a compensation professional in a complex organization

  2. Experience working in the financial services industry

  3. Experience working in Consumer Banking

  4. Professional certification in HR related discipline (CCP, SPHR, PHR, etc.)

  5. Experience working with HRIS systems and Market Data tools (Payfactors)
