The Quality Assurance Director will be in charge of implementing and maintaining QA measures within a North American corporate dining accounts, to ensure the highest level of food safety and workplace safety within the operation.
*REMOTE work location! This position can be worked from anywhere in the United States.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Responsible for promoting, enforcing, maintaining, and verifying quality assurance and safety reporting standards in accordance with Industry and Compass standards.• Responsible for providing QA training with associates• Liaise with client, senior management, unit managers and chefs on all Quality Assurance issues.• Perform unit level Quality Sanitation Audits on a monthly basis.• Provide written feedback to unit managers & chefs regarding non-compliances and observations during QA site visits• Work with managers to find solutions to QA challenges and crisis• Initiate weekly meeting the Manager and Chefs dedicated to Quality Assurance• Participate in back of house (BOH) inspections and all external audits• Complete corrective action plans that include preventative measures• Work with Managers and Chefs to ensure all corrective /preventative action is effective and sustained.• Work with Managers and Chefs on continual improvement• Train associates on all QA policies and procedures and maintain accurate records• Verify that the QA system is effective and make changes as necessary• Work with managers to reduce violations and repeat violations• Continually verify competency of associates• Produce quarterly QA Dashboard detailing trends and compliance• Work closely with local Health Department on changes to policy • Work directly with SVP Global Strategy Operations• Maintain strong focus on Corporate Governance and compliance• Evaluate opportunities to improve safety and QA through continuous improvement and efficiencies for overall foodservice program• Develop relationships with key QA and operational leaders across multiple sectors• Continually challenge the status quo and look to provide added value
• Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Food Science or Life Science, Master degree preferred. A comparable combination of training and experience may be considered• Be CPFS and HACCP credentialed• Have experience in North American regulatory requirements including US FDA Food Code and State Department of Health/Agricultural Regulations and Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and the Department of Health Canada (Health Canada)• Professional communication skills with all levels of associates and clients• 5+ years QA experience. Minimum of 1 year in a management position• Able to train associates and managers on all Food Safety practices including Serv Safe, HACCP, Allergen, Sanitation from prepared materials• Ability to motivate teams and promote continual improvement. Continually lead by example and promote Best Practice. Capability to effect change• Attention to detail and ability to help managers to find solutions• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills; professionalism• Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point and Outlook• Recognize QA requirements for equipment, facilities and vendors identify opportunities for improvement
