Siemens Energy Key Account Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day

A typical day in this role involves representing Siemens Energy businesses to Duke Energy, engaging with stakeholders across the entire customer enterprise and hierarchy. You will lead the strategic direction of the Duke Energy account, driving business development across various portfolios.

Foster alignment among internal teams focused on customer happiness, while holding Siemens Energy business units accountable and ensuring that client interactions are beneficial to both Siemens Energy and the customer. Building and maintaining relationships across all levels and areas of Duke Energy is also a key part of your day.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead the strategic direction of the Duke Energy account across the entire customer enterprise and hierarchy.

  • Drive business development across various portfolios, including Fossil and Nuclear Power Plant Service, New Plant Equipment, Electrolyzers and Hydrogen Applications, Industrial, Wind Turbines and Services, and Transmission and Distribution Equipment and Services.

  • Build and manage relationships across all levels and areas of Duke Energy, encouraging connections between relevant internal and external collaborators.

  • Act as the customer expert and advocate when interacting with internal teams, especially in crafting winning strategies and overcoming implementation challenges. Keep leadership and internal partners advised of any issues, success stories, or significant customer developments.

  • Lead account team members, both formally with direct reports and informally with peers, while navigating account support.

  • Ensure financial forecast /order intake is accurate within CRM tool.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years proven ability within energy industry or Siemens Energy business is required. Sales experience within the industry is a plus. Candidates with more experience may be considered for a higher level.

  • Experience leading or managing a team.

  • Ability to lead moderate/large meetings with executives.

  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Knowledge of financial targets and Salesforce.com.

  • Candidate either must be located or willing to relocate to Charlotte, NC for this role.

  • Up to 15% travel is expected.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

About the Team

The We provide a wide range of sophisticated technologies, services, and solutions for both centralized and decentralized energy production, transmission, and distribution.

The Power System Sales team in our Charlotte office is seeking a Key Account Manager to lead a talented account team. In this role, you will be responsible for all Siemens Energy-related activities with Duke Energy. This includes sales, identifying partnership opportunities, organizing executive meetings, bundling opportunities, supporting client charity events, project management, and handling settlements.
