The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Scope of Position:

The intern will help with SAP Delivery services by working on new age CI/CD and Clean core principles. Help in COC's ERP transformation from existing ERP system to SAP S/4 HANA. The primary responsibility of the intern is to work closely with the SAP Development Leader and the IT SC Delivery Manager to plan a project and help implement Clean core concepts. This position will be instrumental in adding capacity to the existing technical team and the future development path could be to stay and develop themselves as SAP Technical leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Vision a detailed Day-In-Life of the next generation developer at Corning

  • Develop real time coding examples to showcase the steps and stages of the process

  • Develop a process and concept for SAP development at Corning

  • Combine ProCode and Citizen developer development paths to a common model

  • Present results to leadership

  • Lead discussion with stakeholders and decision makers

  • Facilitate process discovery sessions with all levels of the organization - from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and various Service Owners

  • Create process documentation/workflows.

  • Assist with updating technology roadmaps

  • Communicate, liaise and contribute to organizational change management with various departments in the organization to facilitate implementation of new or improved process changes – verbally and/or through written documentation.

  • Interest in learning the next generation tools for SAP Development based on the BTP platform

The intern will learn:

  • Access to SAP BTP platform and training platform

  • Use low code and pro code SDK’s on BTP

  • Work with SAP Development Team at Corning

  • Insights into a complex ERP landscapes and the connected ecosystems, ITIL

  • Understand auxiliary management systems for real world development (SAP Cloud ALM)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Business management, Information Technology

  • Relevant experience a plus

Required Skills:

  • Development Skills in a major development language (e.g. Java, HTML5, SAPUI5, SAP ABAP)

  • Conceptional understanding of the E2E development process and concepts (CI/CD, DevSecOps, Agile Methodology, pipeline management) desired

  • Experience with business process mapping

  • Assist with strategic roadmap development.

  • Communication and presentation skills

  • Cost of IT service understanding and modeling

Requirements:

  • Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-August 2025) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
