General Manager in Training
The General Manager in Training is responsible to actively participate in all aspects of Components Sales, Design, and Manufacturing to gain the experience necessary to be promoted into the role of General Manager.
Once promoted, the General Manager is responsible for the strategic planning and direction of business growth. Obtaining profit contributions by managing staff; establishing and accomplishing all business objectives.
Complete responsibility of Profit and Loss of Plant.
Oversee inventory control
Oversee equipment maintenance program
Oversee continuous improvement program in all areas
Evaluation and development of staff and leadership
Increase management effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, coaching, disciplining managers.
Communicating values, strategies and objectives
Developing an environment where the offering of information and opinions are appreciated and expected.
Develop strategic goals by studying technology and financial opportunities; then recommending ideas.
Creating action plans for departments; design, production, and sales
Build company image by collaborating with customers, community organizations and employees.
Able to read and write and speak English
Able to read and write and speak Spanish, or be willing to learn
4 year degree preferred, prior experience in leading / managing teams is necessary
Must be willing to relocate
Must have good leadership skills
Must have good interpersonal skills
Must have excellent problem-solving skills
Must be able to work under pressure

Work will usually be performed in an office environment but will occasionally be performed in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment where individual is exposed to extremes of seasonal heat and cold as well as the potentially dangerous conditions of wood truss manufacturing. Work can be performed outdoors where individual is exposed to the elements. Individual is exposed to the noise levels consistent with building (hammering) and the operation of large, commercial saws. Individual is exposed to the saw dust generated by commercial saws. Eye, ear, head, and hand protection is required depending on the operation being performed.

This position is responsible for all activities related to the assigned location, more specifically through department managers in areas of Sales, Design, Maintenance, Safety and Production.
