Job Description

​The Finance Director will oversee the preparation and submission of financial reporting and analysis, while also leading consolidated financial strategy and planning for the Payments Services organization. This role involves providing strategic direction, overseeing long-range forecasts, analyzing trends, and guiding critical decision-making to ensure business performance and financial results.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to pursue financial objectives of the business. This includes collaborating with the team and senior leadership to develop and maintain a long-range financial plan.

  • Lead/oversee the preparation and review of the Payments Services financial support for the quarterly earnings release. This involves ensuring that the financial information accurately reflects the organization’s performance and highlights the key aspects of the business.

  • Assist with preparation of executive presentation materials related to internal and external reporting requirements, such as annual and long-range plans, forecasts, SEC reporting, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results as well as various line of business and/or operating reviews.

  • Partner with investor relations to provide strategic guidance on responding to investor and analyst community questions on Payment Services, including preparation of ad hoc analysis in support of underlying business performance trends.

  • Coordinate the stress testing process for Payment Services. Review and analyze stress results and prepare review documents for upper management.

  • Lead the consolidation, analysis and reporting of weekly sales data, ensuring accuracy and reliability. This involves compiling data from various sources, analyzing trends, and identifying key insights to communicate to executive leadership.

  • Maintain an internal control process to ensure objectives related to operations, reporting and compliance are achieved within the finance organization.

  • Assess bank and business line initiatives considering downstream investment requirements, establish reporting and analysis to demonstrate the potential and actual impact of investment decisions, and create and review financial metrics to measure success.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with various groups across Payments Services and U.S. Bank.

  • Ad hoc requests as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • 8+ years of banking experience

  • 3+ years of management experience

  • BA/ MBA in accounting or related field; CPA preferred

  • Well-developed leadership abilities and strategic management skills

  • Knowledge of payments industry

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills

  • Well-developed analytical, decision-making, and critical thinking skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $145,180.00 - $170,800.00 - $187,880.00
