The Director, HSE will provide global leadership and oversight support for driving HSE excellence, focused on implementation of effective operating mechanisms that assure regulatory compliance, management of HSE risk and achievement of performance excellence. This role will establish strong working relationships with business and HSE leaders and field service locations in addition to supporting a mature HSE culture via the Honeywell Operating System (HOS).
You will report directly to the Corporate Vice President, Health, Safety, Environment, Product Stewardship and Sustainability and will be located in Charlotte NC. Key responsibilities of this position include:
Developing, aligning and supporting the implementation of Field Work HSE programs and practices, consistent with Honeywell HSE policies and procedures
Leading and overseeing the Field Work Governance process, including audit preparation and performance
Assisting in the establishment of the HSE vision, goals, objectives and targets for HSE performance. Developing quality metrics to drive performance improvement
Providing expert, hands-on technical involvement on issues, programs, and processes involving compliance with HSE related standards and policies and interpretation of local, regional and global HSE requirements, permits and regulations
Depending on skill sets, this roll will assist in the oversight of either the corporation’s Process Safety Management (PSM) or Industrial Hygiene (IH) program and governance
Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, engineering, chemistry or related science discipline required.
Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in safety or occupational health, safety and environment (HSE) role
Extensive HSE experience in industrial Field Service businesses
Thorough working knowledge and understanding of global occupational safety laws and regulations, with a particular focus on either Process Safety Management or Industrial Hygiene
Professional Certification (CSP, CHMM, RSP, PE, etc…)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Customer focused, strategic thinker
Success of leading and developing teams
