The Role at a glance:

As the Director of Business Intelligence (BI) & Analytics you will be in a hands-on action-oriented role and will report to the VP, Information Services. You will be in an influential role working across the organization to deliver best in class BI capabilities that drive impactful business decisions. You will have advanced understanding of business and analytic requirements to deliver high-impact, relevant data products and visualizations that drive company performance through continuously monitoring, measuring, identifying root cause, and proactively identifying patterns and triggers across the company to optimize performance. As the Manager BI & Analytics you will have a keen focus on strengthening the foundation for performance reporting and management as well as designing & implementing innovative data products that can be commercialized across the enterprise.

This position is remote based in the US.

What you'll be doing:

  • With a hands on approach, learn and possess a deep understanding of the company’s business models, data sources, and system infrastructure to expertly design and implement the roadmap and guiding principles for a scalable Business Intelligence COE

  • Work with multiple and disparate data structures to lead the development and implementation of BI solutions- including operationalizing data models, building stable and repeatable data transformations, and data visualizations based on concepts of storytelling

  • Continue to develop and build the team structure to further scale and democratize data utilization by providing actionable, accessible, and intuitive data stories

  • Consult and iterate with the business and lead the team to collect requirements that can be translated to deliver relevant operational outcomes

  • Conduct exploratory and descriptive data analytics throughout the deployment process to refine requirements and identify potential opportunities to grow

  • Create an environment for prototyping and understand the value of usability and the end-user experience to maximize the final product

  • Improve current tools and automate business processes for tracking, prioritizing, organizing, and communicating information across multiple business segments

  • Work closely with data operations for data ingestion, data architecture and engineering

  • Work closely with IT infrastructure to ensure optimal platform performance that supports scale and innovation

  • Actively participate in the industry to stay abreast of industry trends, new technology, and best practices

What we're looking for:

Must-have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related Data & Analytics field

  • 7 plus years of relevant work experience

  • 3 years of a successful track record in managing teams, with excellent coaching and mentoring skills

  • Demonstrated hands on experience in BI techniques, tools, and operational applicability such as Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, etc.

  • Experience working in cloud hosting platforms like AWS

  • Must have knowledge and experience in designing and building a scalable BI infrastructure

  • Ability to communicate with various audiences with varying degrees of technical expertise

  • Strong planning, priority setting, and project management skills to manage multiple projects and resources in a fast-paced environment

  • Travel up to 10% for meetings, training, etc.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Related experience in Contract Services or Retail

  • Command of programming languages (SQL, Python)

  • Experience setting and operating snowflake architecture

  • Experience working within an Agile Methodology

  • Experience with innovative solutioning, problem solving, and working across diverse groups and domains
