As a leader in gas utilities, we specialize in engineering, designing, upgrading, and maintaining natural gas distribution system assets. In this role, you'll be at the cutting edge of innovation, driving the design, upgrade, and maintenance of these critical systems.

We are seeking a Design Engineer I based in Charlotte, NC. This role involves local travel for occasional site visits and fieldwork, as well as office visits for team meetings. In this role, you'll leverage your technical expertise to ensure design meet project specifications. You'll communicate challenges related to scope, schedule, and quality, and collaborate with Designers and Drafters to complete design packages.

In this role, you are enabled to be at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and utilizing tools such as, Microsoft Copilot, bespoke AI workflow tools, and an IT team dedicated to continuous improvement and innovation to enhance our operations and drive efficiency. All employees can engage with the Digital Transformation Team to support the integration of new tools and following employee ideas to drive success for the business.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Must have a valid driver's license without restrictions for occasional fieldwork and site visits.
