Our Aviation Team is seeking a civil engineering Project Manager to support our growing aviation practice in the Southeast Region of the U.S. In this key role, we’ll look to you to lead civil/structural engineering projects, provide excellent client service, manage quality, and perform in a team environment. With a focus on major airports in the Carolinas, projects will include, and are not limited to airfield improvements, land/site development, and other transportation tasks.
When you join us, you’ll manage and lead the ongoing progress of projects, including the coordination of the project with the client, subconsultants, and other outside agencies as needed. We’ll ask you to conceptualize the initial civil design approach for major phases of land/site development, airfield improvements, related projects, and have overall responsibility for the civil engineering work.
You will utilize your expertise to plan and conduct work requiring evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/ modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Additionally, you’ll use advanced techniques to modify and extend civil engineering theories, precepts and practices.
Our Project Manager will resolve a variety of complex problems, (i.e. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements) and develop resilient solutions.
When you join us additional responsibilities will include:
• Building client business opportunities and support project proposal teams.
• Supervising the design tasks and drive the ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with the client, City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies as needed.
• Leading, coordinating and reviewing the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project.
• Participating in contract bidding and administration; observe project action on site.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE or equivalent)
• Professional Engineering (PE) certification in North Carolina (or ability to gain reciprocity and/or obtain license within 6 months)
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience as a designer for aviation projects in North and/or South Carolina
• Experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam and CAE tools and work products
Ideally, you’ll also have:
• Airfield civil engineering design experience
• Experience with the development of reports, plans and specifications using FAA, UFC, or ICAO guidance
• Previous experience managing projects
