AIG Assistant Vice President, Digital Product / UX Design (remote - NC, CT, NJ) in Charlotte, North Carolina
We are seeking a User Experience / Digital Product Design Lead to define and drive the future insurance experience for our clients and underwriters across mobile web sites, and other platforms in an agile work environment. You will contribute to the product strategy to help shape the future vision and ensure that customer’s experience and needs are aligned with the solution. Our ideal candidate has a love for amazing and functional experiences, is a fierce advocate for the user, and is committed to creating compelling, elegantly simple user experiences from otherwise complex workflows. In this role, you will be driving product related outcomes with business sponsors and engineers. You will lead the charge on creating the most valuable, robust, delightful experience while ensuring consistency and thinking holistically about the design of our digital solutions.
Responsibilities:
Lead design projects and drive end to end product design ( both interaction/ux AND visual design )
Lead creative direction and strategy while managing key relationships
Make individual design contributions to products, their workflows, and the broader design system
Active in governance of our design system and evolving it based on emergent needs discovered through application designs
Synthesize complex business goals into easy-to-use designs and user flows
Leverage data to create successful, user-centered mobile & desktop experiences that drive performance
Be an ambassador for user-centered design and the strategic value of design across the enterprise, especially with your cross-functional peers and leadership
Plan, conduct, and lead white-boarding sessions, design sprints, design workshops, and project meetings
Investigate user experience design requirements for our suite of digital assets
Produce high quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes
Become deeply knowledgeable about the product roadmap, user workflows, and current designs, so that you can translate complex requirements into simple user interfaces
Providing advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities in order to analyze and predict user behavior
Collaborating with the marketing team, and internal and external designers to ensure the creation and delivery of tailored experiences for the digital user
Adhering to style standards on typography and graphic design of AIG and its partners
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience design expertise taking ownership, driving understanding, and delivering products in cross-functional teams from start-to-finish
Executive presence: client communication, workshop facilitation, presentation and storytelling skills
Self-starter capable of identifying opportunities and delivering solutions on their own
Proficiency with experience design (XD) and prototyping software such as: Sketch, InVision, Photoshop, Illustrator and other Adobe Creative Cloud
Well-versed in responsive web design and mobile/native platform, and an aptitude for exploring new technologies and methodologies
Demonstrated ability to understand a product at a deep level and to drive/participate in user-research. Ability to balance the need for a beautiful, user-delighting interface with the pragmatic concerns of delivery.
Able to work independently with little oversight in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high-energy and mission-driven colleagues.
Track record of managing business expectation in a collaborative and intensive business environment and handling conflicts with various business stakeholders
Portfolio of work that demonstrates strategic design thinking including shipping successful responsive web apps for desktop and mobile in a fast-paced environment .
Good organization, with the ability to clearly communicate ideas and design principles.
Insurance or Banking experience (a plus, but not required).
