Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity in the Local Government industry for a part-time Accounting Clerk based in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. This role will involve 20 hours per week. This role involves handling various accounting tasks, with a focus on credit responsibilities and order-filling, within the public sector.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner

• Maintain precise customer credit records and update them as necessary

• Resolve customer credit inquiries swiftly and professionally

• Monitor customer credit accounts regularly and take necessary actions to collect delinquent payments

• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records

• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks efficiently

• Ensure all order-filling responsibilities are met with high attention to detail

• Adhere to local government policies and regulations in all accounting processes.

Requirements • Prior experience in a local government setting is highly regarded

• Proficiency in bank reconciliations

• Knowledge and experience in managing accounts payable (AP)

• Experience in order-filling tasks

• Familiarity with accounts receivable (AR) management

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of local government accounting principles and regulations

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
