As a member of our Responsible Innovation team, you will play a key role in supporting Facebook’s ongoing efforts to build innovative products thoughtfully and responsibly. Our primary research ranges from formative to evaluative, using approaches such as in-depth interviews, usability testing and surveys.For this position, we are looking for experienced individual contributors with a strong quantitative methodological background and experience, including methods for causal inference with observable data and design as well as analysis of surveys, with an understanding of how to integrate different sources of insights. The right candidate will have a proven track record of impactful and creative research using quantitative methods, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, passion for solving important problems for underserved populations, and comfort operating in a flat and fast-moving organization. Previous experience with program evaluation is encouraged.
Work closely with cross-functional partners to identify and prioritize gaps in our understanding, and design research that contributes to solving for those gaps
Design and execute end-to-end custom primary research to evaluate our internal tools and programs
Adapt methods to the research question at hand, produce actionable insights for data-informed understanding
Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways
Effectively manage and prioritize research plans in an ambiguous and fast-changing environment
Communicate clearly with stakeholders and align and execute critical insights that align with the business top needs and timelines
Collaborate closely with other researchers
Advanced degree in social science (e.g., Communication, Sociology, Political Science, Economics, Psychology), or in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Informatics, Econometrics) with experience answering social questions
Experience with program evaluation or impact evaluation
Knowledge in quantitative research methodologies (e.g., survey sampling and design, significance testing, regression modeling, experimental design, behavioral data analysis)
5+ years of experience conducting research in an organization or consulting environment
Experience in data manipulation and analysis using statistical tools (R/SAS/Stata, SQL/Hive)
