If you are a financial professional who has experience tracking budgets, analyzing data, and managing projections using technical tools, we want to hear from you! The Financial Analyst role will be responsible for working with budgets for our large capital projects. Our ideal candidate will have experience in the utility and/or construction space. _ Primary Role_ /Responsible for all financial aspects of all Capital Construction Program Management (CPM) and associated governance for the respective Operating Unit(s) related to policies, controls, and reporting of construction related activity. Assist in the strategic enhancement of the Operating Unit's capital project program to meet key business drivers. Serves as a company wide resource for financial aspects of the Company’s construction program./ _ Key Accountabilities_ * Responsible for the initiation and preparation of the 5-Year Capital Business Plan and monthly construction spend reforecasts within SAP and Invizion software in conjunction with the engineering lead. * Analyzes and assures that all financial information is sound including updates with actuals, preparing monthly journal entries correcting all aspects of capital accounting, material reports for both operations and engineering upon request, verification of engineering OH calculation, calculation of AFUDC, and reflection of in service dates for depreciation forecasting. (30%) * Functions of the lead role for monthly Functional Sign Off (FSO) and CPM meetings. * Responsible for development of agenda and minutes for approval of projects, preparation and validation of monthly SOX Controls, and overall review of the capital program budget. (15%) * Design and develop training programs for project managers specific to the financial aspects and use of SAP and PowerPlant related to engineering / capital projects and software upgrades. * Provides input and testing for potential enhancements and modifications to SAP and PowerPlant. Serves in the lead role for training and other company-wide capital budget initiatives. (20%) * Perform all monthly, quarterly, yearly, and ad hoc capital budget reporting using SAP, PowerPlant and other tools for both internal purposes and external purposes where applicable (State President, Corporate, SOX, Legal, Public Service Commission, etc.). * Develops State and / or District specific reports as needed. Provide support to all company rate filings in relation to general rate filings, DSIC filings, and data requests. * Prepare yearly DSIC construction spend reconciliation for PSC. (15%) * Serve as primary liaison between Engineering/Capital and Accounting, Finance, Rates, Tax, and Utility Plant Accounting on all CPM topics. * Ensures all capital financial data and costs are accurately provided to the Finance Representative. * Prepares all adjustments to actual for developer main extensions and fire service projects. * Responsible for calculating main extension refunds and record keeping of expired main extension agreements. (15%) * Provide support on Enterprise Solution projects and initiatives related to Capital Project Management including, but not limited to, the development of policies and practices, and selection and implementation of software tools.
