Job Description

Hybrid Cloud Specialist

Location: Remote

Must currently hold, and the ability to maintain a Secret Clearance

Drive the introduction, initial deployment and backline support for Oracle's Hybrid Cloud solutions for NSG. This includes both On Premise and Edge devices.

Familiar with:

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Control Console

  • X86 hardware

  • Networking

  • Oracle Linux

  • Oracle Engineered Systems

Understanding of software as code tools such as:

  • Terraform

  • Ansible

  • Kubernetes

  • GitLab etc.

Able to deep dive from a technical perspective on Oracle Hybrid solutions and gain a detailed understanding of functional components (hardware, networking and software). Use and gain an understanding of diagnostics and reporting tools available on the platform(s). Able to run performance monitoring tools such as Grafana and associated diagnostic tools for investigation into platform status. Test, diagnose and resolve issues on the platform. Test and document Hybrid factory reset, configuration, update and cleanse platforms. Create runbooks for DoD use.

Able to work with third party vendors to coordinate installation and deployment of their software. Support vendors with diagnostics and troubleshooting of their applications. This will include working with them to understand frequency, general content of ongoing updates and patches. Utilize vendor support mechanism and be able to track and provide feedback on performance/quality.

Required to provide support to DoD field users during initial deployments. Act as Tier 2 resource for support engineers for volume deployments.

Will be required to work directly with various Oracle engineering teams to communicate issues, help obtain patches and/or work arounds. Will have access to test and field Hybrid solutions in DoD environment.

Must have deep experience with at least one Commercial Cloud environment, preference to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Must have strong hardware background, preferably with Oracle Engineered Systems as well as strong software background.

Position is largely remote, however, periodic travel to meet with Engineering teams, vendors and/or DoD personnel is expected.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen. DoD security clearances are preferred

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or relevant discipline. Extensive work history in the area may be considered an acceptable alternative qualification.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in information technology. Must have exposure to DoD environments.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong skills with Office 365 products required (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

“Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a contractor in the Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community.

  • Technical expertise and hands on experience with complex hardware/software environments such as Engineered Systems.

  • Experience or training with variety of Oracle technologies hardware and software technologies such as

  • Private Cloud Appliance

  • Exadata Database Machine

  • Oracle Database/RAC

  • Passion for technology, the curiosity and willingness to constantly learn new skills, work with new tools and discover new and innovative approaches to solving complex technical challenges.

  • Hands on experience in implementing, configuring, and maintaining COTS (preferably Oracle COTS) is useful from the aspect of cloud deployment.

  • Hands on experience implementing middleware technology such as WebLogic, Apache Tomcat on Linux and Windows and products such as Goldengate.

  • Hands on experience in integrating and implementing Microservices. Experience with containers and Kubernetes.

  • Experience in implementing and configuring networks in one or more of Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, or other Cloud environments.

  • The ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and, vice versa, translate functional needs to technical solutions

  • The ability to lead a team of Customers, System Integrator(s) and Oracle personnel on initial deployments and troubleshooting.

  • Oracle Labeling Technologies (Oracle Label Security, Database Vault)

  • Machine Learning (ML)

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • ETL, ODI, EDQ, Hyperion, Web Center Content, IDAM, technologies

  • Oracle or AWS Cloud

  • Oracle PaaS (Describe specific experience)

  • Oracle Engineered Systems

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)

California Pay Range: from $107,400 to $214,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Colorado Pay Range: from $101,400 to $193,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

New York City Pay Range: from $93,500 to $204,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Washington Pay Range: from $113,400 to $204,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
