Description

We are offering a part-time contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Charleston, South Carolina. This role is primarily in the concrete industry and involves providing support to our accounting and financial reporting department. The Staff Accountant will be accountable for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in accounting processes, and ensuring effective reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining and reconciling accounts for affiliate entities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable processing, utilizing skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Conduct bank reconciliations and handle general ledger activities

• Utilize QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online for various accounting tasks

• Support in budgeting and forecasting activities

• Post journal entries as required, demonstrating proficiency in handling Journal Entries

• Assist in month-end financial close and interim audits

• Handle job costing, utilizing knowledge in Job Cost and Cost Accounting

• Manage accruals, showing expertise in Accrual Accounting

• Participate in ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements • Possession of a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance

• Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Quickbooks Online

• Familiarity with Accrual Accounting and handling Accruals

• Knowledge of Job Cost and Cost Accounting

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and dependability

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively while working under pressure

• Familiarity with current financial regulations and standards.
