Description

Our client is seeking a permanent full-time Sr. Litigation Attorney to support Complex Business Commercial Litigation in Charleston, South Carolina. The role involves handling complex litigation cases in commercial business and corporate law, from their inception through to trial. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including drafting discovery pleadings and motions, taking and defending depositions, and advocating in the courtroom.

• Handle complex litigation cases from inception to trial, ensuring a thorough and meticulous approach to case preparation.

• Draft and review discovery pleadings and motions in line with the requirements of the case.

• Conduct and defend depositions, demonstrating a strong ability to question and cross-examine.

• Represent the interests of the client in the courtroom, exhibiting strong advocacy skills.

• Maintain a strong record of academic achievement, demonstrating continuous learning and development in the field.

• Adhere to all professional and ethical guidelines, ensuring licensure is maintained and in good standing in South Carolina.

• Handle corporate formation and structuring, capital raises and private placements, and employment and securities law issues.

• Negotiate complex commercial contracts, demonstrating strong negotiation skills and a thorough understanding of commercial law.

• Utilize skills in Complex Business Litigation, Complex Commercial Litigation, and Complex Litigation to effectively manage and resolve cases.

• Strive for success and demonstrate a passion for winning, contributing to the team's overall success.

Requirements

• Must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

• Admission to the state bar where the job is located is mandatory

• 7-15+ years of experience in Complex Business Litigation, Complex Commercial Litigation, and Complex Litigation

• Demonstrated ability to handle large, complex litigation cases independently

• Excellent analytical, research, negotiation, and written/verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in legal research software and other related software for case management

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects at once

• High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas

• Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changes

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
