Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Charleston, South Carolina

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the finance industry, located in Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves complex financial tasks within the accounting department, including managing accounting activities and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on GAAP accounting to ensure compliance and up-to-date knowledge

• Perform month-end close reconciliations to ensure accurate accounting records

• Utilize NetSuite for various accounting operations, enhancing department efficiency

• Leverage proficiency in Microsoft Excel to perform complex calculations and generate reports

• Manage Mergers & Acquisitions procedures, including ASC805, to support business growth

• Participate in year-end closings to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting

• Utilize Excel functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP to manage and analyze data

• Act as a key player in filling multiple roles within the accounting team

• Report directly to the department head, providing crucial updates and information. Requirements • Must possess advanced proficiency in NetSuite.

• Should have a solid understanding of GAAP Accounting principles.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, including the ability to use Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.

• Experience with Month End Close and Year End Closings is necessary.

• Must have prior experience with Mergers & Acquisitions (M& A).

• Should have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

• Professional certification such as a CPA is preferred.

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required.

• Must have the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.

• Experience in financial reporting and regulatory filings is preferred.

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high ethical standards.

• Proficiency in other financial software and systems is a plus.

• Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.

• Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
