Senior Finance Manager - Dell Synergy

This role is fully remote, and can be done anywhere in the US.

You will serve as the finance leader for the Dell Synergy Acceleration Team (DSAT). This position provides an opportunity for an established, broad-based finance leader to join a team that is reshaping how finance can support an evolving and growing business. As a leader, you will have an overarching view of the Company’s solutions portfolio as well as selling, pricing and incentive strategies across Dell routes to market.

What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?

We are looking for an experienced finance leader who is able to think strategically and execute tactically. At the same time, the ability to perform in a fast-pace environment is critical. Your primary responsibilities will include providing value add analysis and financial guidance to the business; leading and developing a high-performance finance team; leading cross functionally to better connect route to market strategies across GEO’s and technology areas.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • Demonstrate sound understanding of the Company’s technology offerings, customer value proposition of these offerings, as well as competitive differentiation.

  • Define, drive, and implement the organizations financial framework that drives accountability and maximizes performance.

  • Be able to understand and navigate through both key VMware structure and stakeholders as well as those on the Dell side to drive value and process improvement.

  • Lead developing and delivering data and analytics for the DSAT organization supporting ROI analysis, investment prioritization, and incentive programs.

  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.

  • Participate in operations reviews to ensure both short-term and long-term business plans are achieved.

  • Make sound recommendations for improving performance and creating an environment of strong business controls.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

This role will require extensive business partnership with multiple functions including the Worldwide Partner and Commercial Organization, Strategic Corporate Alliances, Marketing, Sales Finance, BU Finance, Business Operations, and Corporate Finance & Accounting.

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

The Hiring Manager for this role is Frees Yang, Senior Director of Channel Finance, based in Palo Alto. She has been with VMware for 8 years with a solid career progression.

Frees believes that leadership is not defined by title and encourages her team members to be leaders and live the values they all bring to the team. Frees looks for people who can think creatively to solve problems and do so while being collaborative and courteous.

The Team consists of 4 Senior Managers, 5 Managers and 10 Senior Analyst / Analyst, spread around the globe.
