Job Description
David Weekley Homes is seeking an Estimator to fill a key role on the Charleston, SC Purchasing team. We are looking for people with enthusiastic attitudes and a strong work ethic to join our success.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and maintain accurate plan estimates, analyze reports related to estimating activities, and track status of assigned projects.
Manage all aspects of the bid coordination process, including blueprint validation, bid request preparation, research and cost comparison reporting.
Maintain master job cost files and convert material lists and cost estimates to JDE database.
Coordinate the flow of information among suppliers, purchasing staff, builders & DWH computer systems.
Complete quantity takeoffs for new plans, elevations, custom options and plan changes.
Generate price pro-forma and other financial reporting for all communities.
On-site field visits to validate take-offs
Provide generalized service support for internal customers.
Job Requirements
College graduate with background in Business, Finance, Construction Management or related degree OR equivalent work experience
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Solid mathematical and analytical skills
Strong organization and communication skills
Ability to multi-task and excel in a structured environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Experience with job cost accounting software preferred
