Cambridge International Systems, Inc. has a full-time CAD Drafter opportunity available based in Charleston, SC. Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD Secret security clearance.
ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES
Work in conjunction with Principal Designers and Engineers to help develop all aspects of a project
Prepare complete sets of complex drawings which include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings using Revit and AutoCAD software
Work from sketches, models, and verbal information supplied by an engineer, architect, or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments
Select required information from precedents, manufacturers' catalogs, specifications, and technical guides
May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a technical assistant for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project
Provide support in defining and developing detailed calculations, drawings, design and installation packages, technical reports, and detailed analyses
Support the verification of the design specifications and assure accuracy of red-lined drawings upon project completion
Assist in the preparation of drawings and technical specifications for final customer presentations
Develop, review and update Installation Design Packages (IDPs) for 30%, 60%, 90% and final design reviews in accordance with the NIWC Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH)
Assist in the development and maintenance of office drafting and engineering standards, including but not limited to office policies, guidelines, technical instructions, standards, etc.
Support client reviews of drawings, design and installation packages, technical reports, and detailed analyses
Provide support for other engineering activities as required
Assist in the training and mentoring of team members in the use of AutoCAD and Revit per required standards and processes
Required QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.
1-3 years of experience in Revit
3-5+ years of experience in Autodesk AutoCAD; 2018 or later
Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
Skilled in the use of Revit and AutoCAD, specifically NIWC SIPH drawing standards
Proficient in the use of Adobe PRO for document preparation
Experienced working with Engineers, Architects, and Technicians.
Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Cambridge International Systems complies with Temporary Duty Station (TDY)/Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) vaccination requirements. If this position requires OCONUS travel (listed above), Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil lists out applicable current vaccination requirements by location.
Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
