Job Purpose
The Budget and Operations Manager supports Dean in managing and administering financial and budgetary functions of the School of Engineering, Computing, and Mathematics (SECM) at the College of Charleston.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree with at least four years of high-level administrative and budgeting and/or finance experience and experience working in higher education and/or with college populations are required. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Managing administrative and financial/budgetary functions, professional demeanor, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to exercise independent judgment. Knowledge of accounting and management information systems, governmental accounting, marketing, management, and statistics. Technological expertise must include proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, knowledge of website development, managing social media sites, and usingCANVAto develop flyers. Knowledge of financial reporting software (Cognos, Argos),ERPsystems (BANNER), and e-Procure is strongly desired. The applicant should be able to create and maintain complexEXCELspreadsheets and adapt to new and changing technology. Must be able to review, analyze, and assess various situations, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws and provide appropriate expert-level advice to faculty, staff, and students. Ability to lead/coordinate multiple school/campus-wide projects or teams is essential. Must be able to work ethically with highly confidential information. Must be familiar withFERP
