Job Overview

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Environmental and DEA Compliance or designee, the Environmental Engineer will provide environmental oversight for all plant operations with applicable Federal, State, and local environmental regulations. The Environmental Engineer will provide guidance to support plant expansion and modification and serve as a resource for guidance and reporting requirements related to various Environmental, Sustainability, and Governance protocols and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Provide environmental oversight of plant and laboratory activities to maintain compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local environmental regulations, with a primary focus on air compliance.

  • Serve as an information resource on related environmental issues pertaining to site operations.

  • Prepare emissions profiling data for chemical handling and processing operations.

  • Monitor process changes and assess impacts to emissions data. Maintain emission profiling data to ensure it reflects current operations.

  • Assist with maintaining air construction and operating permits and associated record keeping requirements.

  • Complete reporting as required for compliance with applicable regulations and permit requirements.

    Collect data, prepare, and submit reports for various ESG platform

Qualifications/Skills

Technical Expertise in Environmental Regulations:

  • In-depth knowledge of Federal, State, and local environmental regulations, especially those pertaining to air compliance.

  • Proficiency in emissions modeling software and understanding of regulatory filings related to air regulations.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Ability to prepare emissions profiling data for chemical handling and processing operations.

  • Competence in collecting data, preparing, and submitting reports for various Environmental, Sustainability, and Governance (ESG) platforms.

Permit and Compliance Management:

  • Experience in maintaining air construction and operating permits.

    • Familiarity with associated record-keeping requirements and completion of reporting as required for compliance with applicable regulations and permit requirements

Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering or sciences required; Chemical Engineering degree preferred. 2 or more years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Experience with emissions modeling software and regulatory filings as they pertain to air regulations is highly beneficial.

  • Ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds.

  • Must be able to perform tasks requiring physical mobility, including standing for long periods, bending, and reaching. Occasionally required to climb stair towers and ladders.

  • Exposure to chemicals, moving parts, vibration, and noise within an industrial setting.

  • May require occasional travel for training or certification.
