Berkshire East Resort Lead Lift Maintenance Mechanic in Charlemont, Massachusetts

The Lead Lift Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on all chair lifts. They interact professionally with the lift operations staff, assist with lift operations training, and mentor other mechanics. They collaborate with Patrol as needed and keep management apprised on the status of lift related projects. Job responsibilities: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ski lifts Complete and document daily start up and shut down procedures of ski lifts Coordinate with other departments to ensure timelines are met for operational needs and to avoid scheduling conflicts with tasks Read and understand manufacturer\'s manuals, diagrams and schematics Diagnose and repair electrical problems, complete linework, and perform other specialized tasks Follow the company\'s safety and risk management policies and procedures Assure lifts comply with all ANSI, state, and other applicable codes, and regulations Assist with training of Lift Maintenance personnel Mentor and guide other lift mechanics Prepare lifts for annual licensing inspections. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly logs. Maintain all tools, equipment, and vehicles as assigned Document work performed on lifts and submit lift records in a timely manner Work independently when needed in addition to being an integral part of the team Build and maintain positive relationships with manufacturers and contractors within the lift maintenance industry Communicate daily operations as well as larger issues with management Other duties as assigned by leadership, such a lift evacuations, and special projects Qualifications: Mechanics must be a minimum of 18 years old High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver\'s license 2 or more years of experience working on fixed grip, and detachable chair lifts Knowledge of hand and power tools Mechanical and/or low voltage electrical experience Good communication skills, ability to collaborate with a team, and a strong work ethic Capable of staying cool under pressure, and exuding calm to the rest of the team Requirements: Ability and willingness to work outdoors in adverse mountain weather year round Perform physical activities such as climbing, working at heights, lifting, and hiking Use personal protective equipment as outlined in company and work procedures An interest in learning and attending additional trainings is essential, as well as teaching other Courtesy and respect when interacting with management, coworkers, and guests Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, evening shifts during winter, overtime, etc. Benefits: Free skiing and riding at Berkshire East and Catamount Ski Resorts Additional in-season free activities: instruction, mountain coaster, rafting, ziplining, etc. Activity vouchers for family and friends Discounts on food, including in the Crazy Horse Restaurant Discounts on retail merchandise Reciprocity with select resorts for skiing and mountain biking
