Legacy Health Services Medication Technician in Chardon, Ohio

Summary: The Medication Technician assists the facility charge nurse with accurate and timely medication distribution to the residents entrusted to our care. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and have a strong attention to detail. This person will also be an enthusiastic, reliable and compassionate individual with a passion for caring for others. The Medication Technician must be able to follow physician orders and document the medication administration accurately and in accordance with facility policies and procedures.: Job Responsibilities: Including but not limited to: • Provide high quality daily nursing care in accordance with each resident’s care plan and in accordance with facility policies procedures • Administer medications under the direction of the facility nurse as prescribed by the attending physician • Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation of medication administration • Participate in scheduled trainings, in-services and programs to maintain certification and enhance the quality of care provided to all residents • Work directly with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide the highest quality care to all residents • Provide timely communication to team members to aid in the care and treatment of residents and the development of person-centered care plans • Possess a strong understanding of long-term care federal and state regulations • Other duties as required: Education and Experience Requirements: * High School Diploma or GED required * State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) licensure in the State of Ohio required for a minimum of one year * Excellent customer service skills required * Excellent communication skills required * Ability to effectively multi-task and remain calm under pressure required * Basic computer skills required; experience with Point Click Care preferred * Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job including but not limited to lifting, bending, turning and pushing: Why Legacy Health Services?: Healthcare is a calling and being part of a family owned and operated company that will invest in YOU will turn that calling into a career.
