This position is eligible for the Outpatient Commitment Incentive Program!
The Commitment Incentive of $5,000 paid over a three (3) year commitment period. Payment is spread over a 3-year period in six(6) installments. Payment is made after each six (6) month period of work is completed. Summary :
We are looking for a Sleep Technologist to join our prestigious Sleep Disorders team at UNC! As an accredited 16-bed lab, we care for a wide variety of patients in our Laboratory. Studies may be performed in an outpatient lab or at the patient's bedside. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of North Carolinians and others we serve. Responsibilities :
Interact with patients. Explain the studies to the patients and their family to prepare them for the test, interview them and take their histories, and get them ready for their follow-up appointments.
Set up, calibrate, and maintain equipment in procedure rooms, hospital patient rooms, or clinic rooms for studies.
Perform diagnostic testing including polysomnographic (PSG) testing with possible oxygen therapy and continuous positive air pressure treatments (CPAP)
Read and score neurodiagnostic data for providers
May provide instruction and guidance to other technologists or students in the Sleep Disorders Lab.
Performs diagnostic patient testing electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocities (NCV), sensory evoked potentials (EP), and polysomnographic testing with possible oxygen therapy and continuous positive air pressure treatments (CPAP).
Performs room and equipment set-up and placement in hospital rooms, operating rooms, or clinics. Calibrates and maintains equipment.
Reads and scores neurodiagnostic and/or polysomnographic tests. 5. Takes patient histories. Provides instruction to patients and families regarding test preparation, pre-test interviews, and follow-up appointments.

Education Requirements:
● Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Registered in one of the following specialty areas:
•EEG (Electroencecephalogram- R. EEG T., CLTM)
•EP (Evoked Potentials-R. EP T.)
•Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM)
•Nerve Conduction Velocity studies (NCV
•Polysomnography (RPSGT)
•Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
Professional Experience Requirements:
● If completion of an acceptable program of Neurophysiology: No prior experience required.
● If a High School diploma or GED: Two (2) years of experience performing a variety of Sleep or Neurodiagnostics procedures.

Pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity.
