ManTech Systems Administrator in Chantilly, Virginia

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Administrator to join our team on site based out of Chantilly, VA.

The Systems Administrator must exhibit good judgment in interfacing with all government and contract personnel, providing proper examples of work performance, and adherence to professional standards and operational and security guidelines as defined by the Government and ManTech International, Inc.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding of Windows Active Directory concepts and design.

  • Understanding of basic Windows administration and network concepts (DHCP, Print, DNS, etc.).

  • Installing Windows Server images.

  • Understanding Storage Area Network SAN technology.

  • Understanding of VSphere / VCenter.

  • Deploying ESXi.

  • ESXi Administration.

  • Conduct basic Network Troubleshooting.

  • Coordinate with internal and external teams for inventory, hardware orders, equipment movement, and shipping needs.

  • Travel to install sites and perform deployment activities to include: site surveys, install hardware, install software, remove hardware, check hardware for shipment etc.

  • Conduct site surveys; assess and document current site server or network configuration and user requirements.

  • Analyze existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions.

  • Prepare engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages.

  • Develop hardware installation schedules.

  • Prepare drawings documenting configuration changes at each site.

  • Prepare site installation and trip reports.

  • Train site personnel in proper use of hardware.

  • Respond to requests and document actions taken in a ticketing system.

Job Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in Information Technology.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience managing Windows Active Directory accounts, permissions, etc. in a federated enterprise environment.

  • Experience with ESXi Administration.

  • Experience with VSphere / VCenter.

  • Experience with Storage Area Network SAN technology.

  • Experience using identity security and access management solutions (e.g. CyberArk).

  • Understanding of cybersecurity concepts and policies.

  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making.

  • Experience in Customer Service.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Productivity applications.

  • One or more technical certifications (Comp TIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft, VMWare, NetApp, etc.) required.

  • Must be able to deliver clear and effective communication both verbally and non-verbally to deliver updates; briefings; or interface with co-workers; leadership as well as customer.

  • Occasional travel up to 25% CONUS and OCONUS.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or Business Administration or a Bachelor’s in management information sciences. Work experience and/or industry certifications demonstrating technical proficiency may be substituted for education requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One or more technical certifications (Comp TIA ITF+, A+, Network+, Security+, CTT+, MS MCT, MS Endpoint Administrator, etc.) highly preferred.

  • Experience supporting and training end users on complex hardware and software solutions.

  • Knowledge of Service Desk operations and ticket queue management.

  • Experience performing scripting (JavaScript, VB Script, Python, LUA, etc.).

  • Experience using ServiceNow.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.

  • A current and active Secret clearance strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in stationary position for up to 50% of the time.

  • Must be able to work in an office environment and be able to freely move within this space to utilize office equipment as well as interface with co-workers and customer.

  • Must be able to effectively use IT peripherals such as laptop, desktop, printer, fax machine, etc.

  • Must be able to deliver presentations as needed.

  • Must be able to review; decipher and understand program manuals; software/hardware manuals; training manuals; etc.
