Koniag Management Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company , is seeking a Communications Specialist (PART-TIME) to support KMS and our government customer. This is a Remote opportunity. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Technical Writing:

  • Draft, edit, and refine technical documents, reports, briefings, and presentations for the SES, ensuring clarity and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Translate complex technical concepts and data into accessible language for non-technical audiences.

  • Develop white papers, executive summaries, and talking points that convey key messages and strategic priorities.

  • Ensure all written materials adhere to organizational standards, tone, and branding.

Visual Communication:

  • Create visually engaging content, including infographics, charts, and other graphic elements, to support strategic messaging and enhance comprehension.

  • Design high-quality presentations for senior leadership meetings, conferences, and briefings, ensuring the content is both informative and visually appealing.

  • Collaborate with graphic designers and other creative professionals to develop communication assets that align with the SES’s strategic vision.

  • Maintain visual consistency across all communication materials, ensuring a polished and professional presentation.

Data Visualization:

  • Develop clear and compelling data visualizations to illustrate key metrics, trends, and analysis for the SES and other senior leaders.

  • Present complex data in user-friendly formats, including dashboards, charts, and graphs, that highlight insights and support decision-making.

  • Collaborate with data analysts and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of visualized data.

  • Provide recommendations on the most effective visualization techniques based on the data and target audience.

Strategic Messaging & Coordination:

  • Prepare leadership for key engagements by creating detailed briefing materials, ensuring they are equipped with relevant data and talking points.

  • Assist in developing and refining the SES’s strategic communication plan, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and mission priorities.

  • Ensure that all messaging is consistent, cohesive, and reflective of the SES’s vision and leadership style.

  • Support cross-functional communication efforts by liaising with other departments to ensure unified messaging across various initiatives.

  • Stay informed about organizational updates and industry trends to ensure communications are timely and relevant.

Qualifications:

  • Proven (5+ years) experience in technical writing, strategic communications, and visual communication, preferably supporting senior leaders or executives.

  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, concise content.

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and visual communication platforms (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft PowerPoint).

  • Experience in designing executive-level presentations, reports, and briefing materials.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in ensuring the accuracy and professionalism of communication materials.

  • Familiarity with government or defense environments is a plus.

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
