Life Time Fitness Inc Senior QA Analyst-Java in Chanhassen, Minnesota

Position Summary Senior QA Analysts within the Life Time Technology (LTT) group are responsible for creating a comprehensive test plan to make sure that testing is well defined and planned. Senior QA Analysts are also responsible for executing the plan, managing all activities in the plan to ensure that all the requirements are met and that the solution works as expected, creating and executing the test cases both manual and automated, identifying and re-testing defect fixes and communicating results. The Senior QA Analyst will work closely with the Director for estimating/scheduling work, the Business Analyst for requirement comprehension, Developers for defect resolution and the Business Users for User Acceptance Testing. The Senior QA Analyst will work as a member of a cross functional team including project managers, business analysts, software engineers, and QA analysts, so effective communication, collaboration, and team work is essential for success. Job Duties and Responsibilities Work across a numerous projects to ensure technical excellence of our applications. Work with Business Analysts and Developers to clarify and understand functional and software requirements Analyze functional requirements, wireframes, designs, and other project documentation as appropriate, to determine software application testing requirements Determine appropriate test types and create detailed test cases both manual and automated. Execute test cases, analyze test results, problems, or failures and document results. Utilize effective time management skills to work on multiple projects simultaneously Provide regular status reports and QA metrics Ensure that all test tasks follow a consistent QA methodology and that deliverable meets documentation / company standards Perform various test types: smoke, functional, system/integration, regression, automated, performance/load, UAT, deployment Position Requirements Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 5 years of QA technical experience Strong communicator - able to explain complex technical situations to relatively non-technical co-workers and key business stakeholders. Cool under pressure, able to simultaneously manage many details and priorities. Solution oriented mindset - creative use of technology and alternative approaches. "No" is not in your vocabulary. Preferred Requirements Strong experience with Agile and Scrum Strong SQL skills including experience with stored procedures Minimum of 3 to 5 years using Java Selenium automation frameworks for scripting. Proficient at decomposing requirements, identifying testing scenarios, and developing test automation for projects of simple to high complexity Ability to create clear, concise detail oriented test plans/cases. Ability to understand and create test plans from specifications or verbal communications. Strong comprehension of an SDLC process Strong knowledge of automated testing tools, techniques and methodologies Excellent written and oral communication skills Keep abreast of new technologies, implementation methodologies and industry best practices for interactive quality assurance Experience using bug tracking tools Experience using formal software development methodologies
