The Controls Engineer supports instrumentation and controls systems for the company's manufacturing plant. This position troubleshoots, supports the development of process/system improvements and preventive and predictive maintenance development. The Controls Engineer monitors contractor performance, as needed, for new instrumentation or controls systems for the company's manufacturing plant.

salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • The Controls Engineer supports instrumentation and controls systems for the company's manufacturing plants

  • This position troubleshoots, supports the development of process/system improvements and preventive and predictive maintenance development

  • The Controls Engineer monitors contractor performance, as needed, for new instrumentation or controls systems for the company's manufacturing plants

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose instrumentation and controls issues in industrial equipment and processes using experience, system knowledge and proper instruments appropriate to the voltages and currents encountered

  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices

  • Read and translate information found within building and process blueprints and one-line diagrams to install outlets, circuits, load centers and other forms of electrical equipment

  • Understand calibration procedures for process instruments, which measure temperature, pressure, flow, level and composition and process controls

  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot VFD's and servo drives

  • Operate diagnostic equipment including meters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, Thermograph imager, and process calibrators
