Mechanical Engineer Intern – Summer 2025
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and talented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our engineering tech team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and gain hands-on experience in designing and optimizing solar tracking systems. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates passionate about renewable energy and eager to apply their engineering skills to real-world challenges.
Duration of Internship: May 19th – August 8th
Key Job Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and development of mechanical components for solar trackers, ensuring high efficiency and durability.
Collaborate with the engineering team to perform simulations, stress analysis, and design improvements.
Support in the creation of technical documentation, CAD models, and engineering drawings.
Participate in the testing and validation of prototypes and suggest design modifications based on test data.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet customer requirements and industry standards.
Help evaluate materials and manufacturing processes to optimize cost and performance.
Conduct research on the latest innovations in renewable energy and solar tracking technologies.
Provide support for field installations and troubleshooting of solar trackers, as required.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a BS degree program in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials science, and engineering practices.
Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
Basic knowledge of structural analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and mechanical simulation tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
This position is located onsite in our Chandler, AZ office.
Relocation is not available for this role.
US Person is required for this role.
Work hours will be Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm.
Juniors preferred as this opportunity has a strong chance of transiting into a full-time/perm role.
