Mechanical Engineer Intern – Summer 2025

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and talented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our engineering tech team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and gain hands-on experience in designing and optimizing solar tracking systems. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates passionate about renewable energy and eager to apply their engineering skills to real-world challenges.

Duration of Internship: May 19th – August 8th

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical components for solar trackers, ensuring high efficiency and durability.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to perform simulations, stress analysis, and design improvements.

  • Support in the creation of technical documentation, CAD models, and engineering drawings.

  • Participate in the testing and validation of prototypes and suggest design modifications based on test data.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet customer requirements and industry standards.

  • Help evaluate materials and manufacturing processes to optimize cost and performance.

  • Conduct research on the latest innovations in renewable energy and solar tracking technologies.

  • Provide support for field installations and troubleshooting of solar trackers, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a BS degree program in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials science, and engineering practices.

  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).

  • Basic knowledge of structural analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and mechanical simulation tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • This position is located onsite in our Chandler, AZ office.

  • Relocation is not available for this role.

  • US Person is required for this role.

  • Work hours will be Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm.

  • Juniors preferred as this opportunity has a strong chance of transiting into a full-time/perm role.
