We are seeking a highly organized and efficientAutomotive Service Dispatcher to join our team at our Greencastle Chevrolet dealership. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. As a Service Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in coordinating the flow of work within our automotive service department, ensuring that vehicles are serviced promptly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming service requests from customers via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Schedule service appointments and assign work orders to technicians based on their skill level and availability.
  • Communicate job details, including required parts and estimated completion times, to technicians and customers.
  • Monitor the progress of work orders and provide regular updates to customers regarding the status of their vehicles.
  • Coordinate with parts department to ensure timely availability of required parts for scheduled repairs.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of service appointments, work orders, and customer interactions in our database.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as invoicing, processing payments, and maintaining service records

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with computer software and automotive service management systems.
  • Knowledge of automotive systems and terminology is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
