Job Description:

Parsons is adding to our environmental services team! We are hiring a human health and ecological risk assessor with 15+ years experience with a desire to support various federal projects across the country in all aspects of environmental investigation and remediation. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Perform comprehensive human health and environmental risk assessments requiring the application of regulatory guidance and risk assessment best practices.

  • Draft technical proposal and project documents, such as risk assessment work plans, baseline human health and environmental risk assessments, and other risk assessment related documents.

  • Participate on multiple teams simultaneously working on varied projects pertaining to - PFAS investigation and remediation, military munitions response, and/or other hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste contamination.

  • Serves as a technical leader and as a recognized expert in your field of practice.

  • Plan, direct, and supervise a project team of scientific professionals and technicians on an interdisciplinary environmental project of large scope and complexity, or on several smaller projects or studies. Make staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise. Monitor productivity and proficiency of the assigned personnel. Review work produced by those assigned for technical accuracy and project quality. Establish budget estimates and staffing requirements for defined scope and schedule.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 4-year degree in environmental science, or related discipline.

  • Working knowledge of software packages typically associated with the discipline (ProUCL, PAST, IEUBK, ALM, Microsoft suite, etc).

  • Working knowledge of current risk assessment regulations, guidelines, methodologies, and practices.

  • Demonstration of success in working in a team environment, being an excellent team player as well as a leader.

  • Proven ability for performing in a supervisory capacity on a project. Task or project leadership experience and willingness to train and develop junior employees.

  • Strong communication and writing skills (technical and non-technical audiences)- an example of an authored writing assignment will be requested.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Master’s Degree in environmental science, or related discipline preferred.

  • Experience with emerging contaminants projects.

  • Environmental sampling experience of various media using multiple sampling techniques and field equipment.

  • Willingness to travel to project site visits, technical project planning meetings, and/or technical conferences.

Salary Range:

$104,200.00 - $182,400.00
