ABOUT CASCADE:

Cascade Community Healthcare (CCH) has been providing treatment services to Lewis County and surrounding areas for more than 50 years. Our mission is to provide our clients with compassionate and encouraging counseling leading to a renewed sense of hope and the ability to make positive changes and live more satisfying lives. Cascade currently has six treatment locations in Lewis County.

 

We are looking for a Jail Counselor/Therapist (Clinician II) to join our Jail Services Team. You will provide assessments and interventions to inmates exhibiting symptoms of a mental health disorder(s) while incarcerated, and to assure they are not inappropriately incarcerated, but diverted and linked to appropriate community care.

 

The location of this position will be at the Lewis County Jail.

 

Starting November 1, 2022 Cascade Community Healthcare will not require the COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment.

 

SHIFTS AVAILABLE:

Standard Monday - Friday 40 hour Work Week

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE:

  • Master's Degree in Social/Behavioral Sciences required; two years experience working with individuals with severe and persistent illness preferred.
  • Washington State Counselor Credential required.
  • Mental Health Professional Certification Required.
  • Must be able to obtain LC Jail clearance.
  • Must be able to pass WA State Patrol background check. A national background check may be required.
  • Must be able to represent the Agency in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to enter information into a computer network system.
  • Must comply with agency policies and procedures.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Must be able to gain access to all types of buildings and residences regardless of the structures' handicapped accessibility or lack thereof.
  • Must maintain current home telephone and address on file with the personnel office.

     

WHAT YOU\'LL DO:

  • Provide intake assessments for inmates in both the Lewis County Jail and Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center.
  • Provide therapy and crisis interventions for incarcerated persons in both correctional facilities.
  • Assess people leaving the correctional facilities for health and safety purposes.
  • Communicate effectively with correctional staff, correctional administration, mental health, medical, and other contracted staff when needed.
  • Provide written reports and testimony to courts as required.
  • Provide consultation, education, and liaison to law enforcement, health personnel, and other appropriate agencies and groups.
  • Participate in supervision, consultation, and training at the direction of the Program Manager.
  • Maintain records and reports in accordance with CCH policies and procedures.

Provides reports in accordance with agency policies and procedures.

Ensures that ethical and professional standards of practice are maintained.
