Wellington Management offers comprehensive investment management capabilities that span nearly all segments of the global capital markets. About the Role

The successful candidate will be an integral member of our APAC Legal Team primarily responsible for supporting the preparation and execution of investment management agreements (IMAs) between Wellington Management and its clients. Wellington Management offers a wide range of investment strategies, from traditional long-only funds to alternative strategies, for sub-advisory and separate account clients worldwide. Our investment management services must meet relevant regulatory requirements and specific needs of our clients. The successful candidate will need to:

  • develop a working knowledge of our client business and practices relevant to client contractual arrangements.

  • review, revise and negotiate IMAs and other client contracts (such as confidentiality agreements and amendment agreements).

  • use and contribute to internal resources such as playbooks, checklists, templates, and training materials to support IMA and other client contract reviews.

  • be a responsive point of contact for client, operational and other functional teams seeking support for client contracts, and synthesize input from functional teams and reflect such comments in client contracts.

  • collaborate with Counsel and other members of the Legal team to advance client IMAs.

  • assist with complex issues arising from IMAs and client onboarding, helping to establish controls and processes where required.

  • manage multiple initiatives with competing priorities in a highly organized and precise manner.

  • flexibly adapt to evolving needs by developing new skills and assuming additional responsibilities.

  • support the development and implementation of technology solutions in relation to the contracting process.
