Job Description

As a Principal Software Engineer in the Core Experience squad, you will be a senior contributor responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business critical applications and services. You will be relied upon to provide technical leadership to the team, participate in setting coding standards, and mentoring junior engineers. You will also be expected to be a proficient individual contributor who will jump in and support project deliverables and find solutions that meet goals and schedules.

To succeed in this role, the Principal Software Engineer must be a technical leader who communicates effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders to meet the needs of the business. They must be highly collaborative, organized, can manage competing priorities, and able to adapt to rapidly changing requirements. Job Duties

  • Design, develop and maintain software solutions adhering to Clean Architecture principles using variety of technology stacks, C#, and Azure Cloud.

  • Leverage your hardware knowledge to collaborate with hardware teams and develop software solutions that interface with hardware components or devices.

  • Write high-quality, secure, and maintainable code to deliver on agile user stories, ensuring that our platform is reliable and scalable.

  • Develop and maintain unit tests with high a high degree of code coverage, ensuring that our code in rigorously testing and optimized for performance.

  • Create clear and concise documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and code comments that illustrate low low-level design according to Clean Architecture.

  • Mentor and guide more junior software developers and consultants, perform code reviews, to ensure overall architecture and code quality is maintained.

  • Maintain compliance with applicable policies and procedures for areas such as Quality, Security and Privacy, ensuring that our platform is security and compliant with industry standards.

  • Collaborate with other development teams and cross-functionally to gather requirements and translate them to technical solutions.

  • Interacts with product managers, project managers, management, other internal and external teams to communicate architecture, status, risks.

  • Develop and optimize Azure Cloud services and infrastructure with a focus on healthcare applications, ensuring compliance with FHIR standards and other relevant healthcare industry regulations.

  • Create and maintains technical product requirements, designs and specifications.

  • Provide support to address problems during development and after product release.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in related discipline, such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related; Masters Degree is preferred.

  • A college or advanced educational degree is not necessarily required for this position. We also value education achieved via work experience, coursework and training, and even self-guided learning.

  • A minimum of 10+ years in Software Engineering, with experience in multiple technology stacks.

  • Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.):

  • Occasional travel is required

  • Availability to work in the Westborough, MA

Preferred:

  • Strong background in object-oriented programming and strong understanding of using design patterns.

  • Demonstrated proficiency and fundamental knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as .NET Core, and .NET Framework.

  • Experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA) and development of containerized applications.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in development of various software components, including, but not limited to the flow of information between proprietary hardware interfaces via socket using standard and proprietary protocols.

  • Experience with API development using GRPC and HTTP/REST.

  • Experience with SDLC, including source control, configuration management, continuous integration pipeline.

  • Understanding or experience with software security requirements and considerations. Understanding of Secure SDLC.

  • Nice To Have:

  • Front end experience with one or more SPA interfaces, such as Angular, React.

  • Desired experience using healthcare interfaces such as HL7/DICOM/FIHR.

  • Desired experience in development of Software as a Medical Device and related design controls.

  • Experience in System Integration is a big plus.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $114,213.00 - $159,898.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
