MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  1. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
  2. Excellent knowledge of digital functions and processes.
  3. Proficient in rotary web press operation
  4. Ability to make accurate mathematical calculations and read a ruler
  5. Ability to understand technical directions (i.e. press et up, web handling)
  6. Ability to follow instructions, demonstrations and practices
  7. Extremely detail oriented and organized
  8. Excellent team attitude with the skills necessary to communicate and comprehend.
  9. Basic computer skills
  10. Ability to distinguish colors precisely
  11. Ability to achieve and maintain acceptable levels of safety, quality and production.

     

  12. EDUCATION AND TRAINING

  13. High school diploma or equivalent.
  14. Five years of flexographic printing experience at Whitlam and satisfactory evaluations throughout the training process.
  15. Complete the Munsell Hue test with a score of 100 or lower
JOB DESCRIPTION:

To perform the necessary press operating functions required to achieve the highest levels of safety, quality, productivity, and consistency.  Perform all duties and functional responsibilities.

    1. Confirm that all necessary components needed to run a job are present prior to starting.
    2. Set-up, run and tear down press in accordance to outlined procedures.
    3. Monitor and maintain conformance specification throughout press runs.
    4. Flag all non-conforming areas in converted rolls for removal in rewinding.
    5. Communicate necessary improvements for future runs via change request sheet (pink sheet).
    6. Complete paperwork associated with press operations accurately and efficiently (i.e. Die Card, Press Procedure Sheets, TMTS, Allocation Sheets, etc.)
    7. Consistently exhibit proper work habits established during initial training period.
    8. Properly train assigned staff on press.
  4. Maintenance:
    1. Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
    2. Perform scheduled operator maintenance duties
    3. Report additional maintenance required to Maintenance Supervisor or Operations Manager.
    4. Handle materials, tools and equipment with proper care and respect.
  5. Clean ink stations, presses and press parts as required.
  6. Communicate problems and discrepancies to Manager as necessary.
  7. Make sure dies are clean before returning them to their proper place.
  8. Pull and visually inspect the tooling for each job.
  9. Ensure that all accessories and equipment removed from the tool crib are returned in the proper condition.
  10. Return ink jugs in proper condition (i.e. cleanliness, the caps are on, etc.)
  11. Properly identify and place excess rolls of material to the "return skid"
  12. Place inventory tags from expended rolls in designated tag return bin.
  13. Place finished product onto cart and properly identify next location.
  14. Comply with and enforce all pertinent departmental and company policies, procedures and instructions.
  15. Perform any other duties as required.
